Utley still needs 4-6 weeks to recover from his hip surgery, but he should be up and around for Spring Training. I'm sure that's news he can be thankful for! You can read the whole story here.

Those were the days...

I remember as a kid being in the car with my Dad as he's listen to ball games on the radio, not wanting to miss them when he was away from home. I remember the TV being turned into baseball, and football all weekend long. Seems it almost didn't feel like home unless there was a crowd and an announcer talking about something. These days, with everything available online, the games don't have to be crammed into a single weekend, and you don't have to listen on the radio to avoid missing those first plays before you got home from work.

That's good, right? Only I kind of like those memories. Hmm.

Updates

I've been MIA for quite a while, but I'm finally back. Life is keeping me busy, so it's hard to make blogging a priority. I only just now upgraded to the new template on blogger. Hopefully it will make updates easier to do, though. If nothing else, I feel like I accomplished something!

Philadephia Phillies Phrustration

Okay, I've been quiet for a while, but I have to speak up. It is time for a new team manager!!!

Buck Showalter, anybody? Dusty Baker? Davey Lopes? At least they have experience managing in the National League. I swear if I see one more pitcher going to bat in the ninth, I'm going to throw something at the TV.

Chase Utley (Phililes 2nd baseman) said he would be reporting to spring training "a little early."

Garcia Coming to Philly

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Freddy Garcia was traded to the Chicago White Sox last week for former No. 1 draft pick Gavin Floyd and a player to be named later. Someone should have told White Sox general manager Kenny Williams to name that player later, because he proceeded to give out the name, pitcher Gio Gonzalez. I've never understood the player to be named later and keeping it a secret. Why not just go ahead and divulge the information it has to come out sooner or later.
